A qualified equipment operator will be expected to have experience in and willing to do the following:
- Read blue prints and specs for projects
- Complete daily job site journals
- Maintenance on equipment operated
- Help with maintenance and cleaning of vehicles and equipment
- Hold a valid class 5 license
- Provide own transportation to project sites
- Work weekends
- Work long hours
- Be able to plant trees (skid steer operators)
- Ability to read grades
- Ability to finish grade
- Ability to sub-grade
- Perform to site clean-ups
- Ability to load and unload equipment on trailers
- Ability to operate various control patterns
Beneficial skills and knowledge to have:
- Ability to operate truck and trailer
- Have a valid class 1 or 3 drivers license
- Knowledge of chaining equipment
- Ability to operate various pieces of equipment
- Valid first-aid certificate
- WHMIS training
